Republic Day Celebrations

Republic Day Celebrations

 - Ved Mehta when in class III–A

26th January 1950 was the day when the constitution of our country came into force. Every year our nation celebrates Republic Day. This year all the cubs had to attend the Republic Day Parade in our school. We assembled in the back garden and welcomed our Principal and the Chief Guest. First we had a Flag Hoisting Ceremony and we all sang the National Anthem. One of the senior boys made a speech on Republic Day. Then there was a march past while the band played on. After that Mr Nathan, our Principal and the Chief Guest inspected the different squads. There was a dance performed by Class 4 followed by the prize distribution. Finally, a photograph of each cub pack with their respective teacher was taken. Then we were given a chocolate before we dispersed. It was a lovely experience.
